The SEAGC is the official conference of the Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society. The objectives of the Conference are to promote good liaison and cooperation with member countries in SEAGS and its relationship with other international and related societies in the exchange of information for tackling common areas of interests in Geotechnical Engineering; gather the pioneers of the Society and to look at the development, advancement and achievements and put them on record for the benefits of engineers, and others who are interested in Geotechnical Engineering; provide an opportunity for engineers to publish their works and networks with others and provide an excellent opportunity for participants who are members of engineering profession to meet socially and exchange information and ideas pertaining to the profession. Since the 1st SEAGC held in Bangkok in 1967, sixteen conferences were held in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok. This is the forth time that Taipei will host the Conference, and it is solemn by the supports of AGSSEA and ISSMGE. The 17SEAGC has a three-day in-house program consisting the Keynote, Guest and Special Lectures and Plenary and Discussion Sessions that cover through the themes of this conference. A number of Special Sessions supported by TC and ATC committees on Natural Hazard Mitigations, Geotechnical Code Development as well as a Forum on geotechnical industry/academia dialogue are scheduled. Finally, technical tours are arranged for attendees to visit NTU/NTUST/NCREE laboratories and large-scale construction sites around Taipei. As the host of 17SEAGC, the SEAGS allied with TGS warmly welcome all the society members and international friends to join us in Taipei.
